The XJ6 Engine, mounted on a separate chassis which isattached to the main body through vibration absorbing rubber insulators provides for one of the quietest carsbuilt. 4-wheel independent suspension, lower center of gravity and wider track, provide for tremendous handling,stability, and ride comfort. “Anti-dive” suspension maintains level stability even under hard braking with no front-end dive. Produced from 1968 through 1973 series 1 can equipped with a 4-speed manual standard with overdrive or an optional 3-speed automatic. The engine is a 6-cylinder in line twin overhead camshaft 2792cc standard or an optional 4235cc.
